The MEMS combines independent online learning with opportunities for live engagement with municipal peers across Canada. 

Through practical, self-guided online learning modules participants explore key principles and practices that support effective municipal event management, planning, and delivery. The online modules can be completed on desktop or mobile device, anytime, anywhere, at your own pace during each course's session dates. 

Interactive professional development

Each MEMS course features a live, facilitated virtual coaching session connecting course participants together to apply course concepts to real-world situations, share experiences, discuss common challenges and explore solutions that contribute to the shared municipal event management body of knowledge.

All virtual coaching sessions are optional but highly recommended to reinforce course learnings and connect with municipal event professionals from across Canada.

Knowledge development and validation 

Knowledge development is supported through interactive knowledge-testing activities embedded throughout each course module. To successfully complete each masterclass, participants must achieve a minimum score of 75% on each knowledge-testing activity. Unlimited attempts are available, allowing participants to revisit content and demonstrate their understanding at their own pace.

Upon completion of the full series, participants will earn recognition as a Municipal Event Management Professional and receive a digital MEMS Certificate of Completion acknowledging their continued professional development and achievement.
